Top Tips To Get Your Skin Through The Winter

By , November 14, 2018

Winter is here and it’s brought its good old friend the cold. Fear not as with our top tops there is no need for the cold to wreak havoc on your skin.

Turn the temperature Down

When we are out in the freezing cold all we want to do is jump in a boiling hot shower. As appealing as that sounds don’t do it. You don’t want to come out of the shower raw red like a lobster. Instead have the temperature lukewarm to help lock in moisture and keep your skin from drying out.

Exfoliate

With the cold weather our skin is more prone to dryness. Do a full body exfoliation to get rid of dead skin and encourage new skin growth. You can do this 2-3 times a week, but if your skin is sensitive you can do less. Exfoliation products and dry brushing can help your skin absorb more moisture when you apply your moisteriser after exfoliation.

Body Moisteriser

It is so important to keep yourself hydrated. Drink lots of water and moisterise your skin. For best results moisterise right after you shower to lock in moisture.

Hand Cream

Our hands are prone to dryness in the winter so carrying a hand cream around in our bags, popping one on your desk in the office and in the bathroom is a little reminder to keep those hands hydrated.

Serum

Layering your skincare products is a must during the winter. Apply a hydrating serum under your mioisteriser to add that well needed hydration to the skin.

Moisteriser

When it’s cold our skin needs as much moisture as possible so why not swap your usual moisteriser for a water based one. A water base moisteriser offers a lightweight hydration and a boost of H20 for the skin.
